It all started with a “PEZ collector’s starter kit” that he received at
his office holiday gift exchange in the
late 90s (Thanks Chas!). Now it’s an obsession. We started attending
conventions in 2004. One a year is the limit. I prefer to drive, as
there is more room for LOOT … but we have flown, with an empty suitcase
of course! I have to have them all! As you are about to see, the room is
getting a bit crowded … so I limit myself on the licensed items. I
have over 600 dispensers, and over 600 licensed items. Enjoy your tour
of the PEZ Palace, I hope it brings you as much joy as it does for me!!
Peg's Pez Palace was created after ousting Bubba
from his home office. The room was painted off-white with light blue
trim and the open beam ceiling was left in its original wood stained
color. Pleated blinds were added over the windows to protect the
PEZ dispensers from harmful UV light. Trapeze lights with UV filtered
halogen lights were strung to provide plenty of illumination. Most of
the display racks are from Display
Pals and Showtime Displays.
The shelving was bought from an unfinished furniture store and then
painted bright colors. The 9 x 11 room is just crammed full of PEZ items
floor to ceiling and has now begun to spill out into other areas of the
house.
